Artificial life art

Recently I heard about the VIDA 10.0 competition. It’s ”an international competition created to reward excellence in artistic creativity in the fields of Artificial Life and related disciplines, such as robotics and Artificial Intelligence”. This reminded me of this video about Theo Jansen:

Yes I know it’s a BMW commercial but it’s the best video about him on the internet. He is also mentioned in the VIDA 6.0 website at the bottom of the page. I also heard that he evolves the links he uses using genetic algorithms. Now that’s alife art.
